The prayer in the present writ petition is to call for the records of the proceedings of the first respondent issued in R.C.No.227330/NGB III(2)/2007, dated 24.03.2008 and quash the same with the consequential direction, directing the respondents to grant retrospective promotion as Grade I constable with effect from 15.05.1986 and to promote Head Constable retrospectively with effect from 15.05.1991 on completion of 5 years of service in Grade I Pc, in the light of the Government orders and to confer consequential benefits.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing on 13.07.2018, there was no representation for the petitioner and the Registry was directed to list this petition under the caption 'for dismissal' on 16.07.2018.

3. On 16.07.2018, when the matter is called, none appeared on behalf of the petitioner, inspite of the matter being listed under the caption 'for dismissal'. Hence, this Writ Petition is dismissed for non prosecution. No costs.
