The prayer sought for in the present petition is to call for the records relating to proceedings in Crime No.10 of 2016 dated 16.07.2016 on the file of the first respondent police and quash the entire proceedings.

2. Heard both sides.

3. The amount of Rs.4,00,000/- (Rupees Four Lakhs Only) involved in the complaint has been settled today by the petitioner herein infavour of the second respondent through a Demand Draft bearing No.755817 dated 19.01.2018 drawn on City https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Union Bank Ltd., Thindal Branch.

4. In view of the same, it would not be proper to permit the first respondent police to continue with the investigation in Crime No. 10 of 2016, since both the parties have agreed to amicably resolve the dispute among themselves. The defacto complainant and the petitioners herein are present before this Court today and also rectified that the dispute has been amicably settled among them.

5. In the result, the Criminal Original Petition is allowed. Consequently, the investigation pending in Crime No. 10 of 2016 on the file of the Inspector of Police, District Crime Branch, Salem District is quashed. The connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
