ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondent-police to register an FIR on the complaint dated 16.06.2016, given by the petitioner, following the decision laid down by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v. Government of Uttarpradesh and Others reported in (2013(6) CTC 353)

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. On a reading of the complaint dated 16.06.2016, it is alleged that the film "Kasethan Kadavulada" is being remade by the opposite party, and that it is also alleged that the opposite party has cheated the petitioner a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- that is alleged to have been received from him.

4. In the considered opinion of this Court, the dispute essentially appears to be contractual in nature. Hence, no positive direction can be issued to the respondent police register an FIR.

Recording the same, this petition is closed with liberty to the petitioner to workout their remedy in the manner known to law.
