ORDER
This petition has been filed to direct the respondents to deposit the cash amount of Rs.27 lakhs and three cheques of Dena Bank, Gumudipundi, valued at Rs.42 lakhs issued by Samarapuri Chettiyar of Kavarapettai before the learned 2nd Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai in C.C.No.9616 of 2010.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.
3. Today, Mr.Murali, the Inspector of Police, CB CID, Metro Wing, has filed Status Report, wherein it is stated as follows in paragraphs 9, 10 and 11:
"9. It is submitted that, the seized amount from the accused in this case totalling Rs.1,09,33,882/- including the accused A2 Ramanathan @ Lazar @ Lazarus was produced before the Hon'ble Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai - 08 on 11.01.2008.
The Hon'ble Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai-08 had deposited in the "Corporation Bank", ChennaiCorporate Banking Branch, Whites Road Branch, No.38 & 39, Whites Road, Chennai 600 014 in the name of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Egmore, Chennai-CB CID(M) Cr.No.4/2007, 5/2007 and CCB "X" Cr.No.712/2006. As of now the deposited amount of Rs.1,09,33,882/- is multiplied as Rs.2,01,50,459/78 as per the statement received from the Corporation Bank, dated 10.08.2015.

It is submitted that, in this regard totally 9 cases have been registered and consolidated Final Report was filed before the Hon'ble II Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Egmore, Chennai against the accused A1 J.Job Saravanan, A2 S.Ramanathan @ Lazar @ Lazarus and 8 others. Subsequently, the case has been transferred to XI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, Chennai i.e., jurisdictional court of the CB CID. The Hon'ble XI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, Chennai has assigned in C.C.No.9616/2010.
11. It is submitted that, the Hon'ble XI Metropolitan Magistrate Court, Saidapet, Chennai has framed the charge against the said accused and trial were commenced. So far 27 witnesses were examined. The case is posted to 21.07.2015 for examination other remaining witnesses."
