This criminal original petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to arrest/secure the accused persons, who are arrayed as accused in Cr.No.249 of 2018 on the file of the Inspector of Police, Salem Town Police Station, Salem District.

2. In view of the law laid down by the Supreme Court in Joginder Kumar Vs. State of Uttar Pradesh [(1994) 4 SCC 260], a direction as prayed for by the petitioner cannot be issued to the respondent police to arrest the accused.

3. However, the respondent police is directed to conduct the investigation as expeditiously as possible and take action in accordance with law.
