Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the 1st respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner dated 11.02.2010, 23.09.2013 and 06.01.2015 within a time frame fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.
2. The petitioner association would state that it espouses the cause of Laboratory Assistants and their members are working as Laboratory Assistant under the Department of Collegiate Education throughout the State of Tamil Nadu in the category of the said position as well as Museum Keeper etc., and involves Technical and Scientific knowledge and experience in the respective field and they have to handle dangerous chemicals, electrical equipments etc. The petitioner association has sent very many representations to the official respondents praying to revise educational qualification of the Laboratory Assistant from SSLC pass with 2 or 3 years experience to an undergraduate degree with pass in Lab Technician Course (2 years) from a Government approved institution so as to enable them to perform and discharge their duty proper.
The second respondent has also sought for opinion from the Principals of all Govt Colleges regarding the up-gradation of the qualification and a positive recommendation was also made by the Higher Education Department to the Directorate of Collegiate Education and however, no response is forthcoming. Hence, the petitioner has came forward to file this writ petition.
3. Heard the submission of Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.
4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 2nd respondent to consider the representations of the petitioner association dated 11.02.2010, 23.09.2013 and 06.01.2015 on merits and in accordance with law after taking note of the proceedings of the Deputy Secretary to Government of the 1st respondent, dated 27.04.2010, in letter No.1071/G2/2008-4 and pass orders within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
