..Respondents Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the third respondent to disburse the sum of Rs.1,44,58,930/- due to the petitioner's concern, together with interest at the rate of 18% per annum, till the date of actual payment, based on the representation of the petitioner dated 13.11.2025.

ORDER
This writ petition has been filed seeking for a direction to the third respondent to pay the petitioner a sum of Rs.1,44,58,930/- together with interest at the rate of 18% p.a. based on the petitioner's representation dated 13.11.2025 within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
2. The petitioner's claims that the aforesaid sum is due and payable to them in respect of the bills raised by the petitioner on the respondents. Since the said amount has not been paid, the petitioner also seeks for payment of interest. The petitioner had given a representation on 13.11.2025 for the aforesaid purpose. Since the said representation has not been considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3. Dr.T.Seenivasan, learned Special Government Pleader, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He has placed on record the written instructions received by him from the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department dated 27.04.2026, which reads as follows: "I am to inform that in G.O.Ms.No.125 Municipal Administration and Water Supply (MA3-(I) Dept. Dated 13.11.2020 Administration
Sanction was accorded for Road Works at an Estimated Cost of Rs.7,00,00,000/- with 4 No. of Works. So for Rs.6,15,53,572/- has been paid to the Petitioner out of Rs.7,00,00,000/-. Further the action is being taken to settle the pending amount."
4. As seen from the written instructions, the respondents have admitted liability to the petitioner only in respect of a sum of Rs.84,46,428/-. Since the respondents have admitted liability only in respect of a sum of Rs.84,46,428/-, this Court can direct the respondents only to pay the said sum of Rs.84,46,428/- to the petitioner within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. In respect of the balance amount claimed by the petitioner in this writ petition, the petitioner will have to approach the forum as stipulated under the contract entered into between the petitioner and the respondents.

Accordingly, this Court directs the third respondent to pay a sum of Rs.84,46,428/- to the petitioner as per the acknowledgment of liability within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Insofar as the balance amount claimed by the petitioner in this writ petition is concerned, the petitioner is granted liberty to approach the forum as stipulated in the contract entered into between the petitioner and the respondents in accordance with law.
