ORDER

The Writ Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the second respondent to provide adequate police protection to enable the petitioner to lay a pipeline between his two lands situated in Survey No.123/1F1B, Singalangombai Village, Senthamangalam Taluk, Namakkal District, and Survey No.123/3C, Singalangombai Village, Senthamangalam Taluk, Namakkal District, based on the petitioner's representation dated 20.03.2026.

2. The petitioner submitted that he had obtained permission from the Executive Officer of Erumapatty Town Panchayat vide proceedings Na.Ka.No.73 of 2026 dated 13.03.2026 to lay a pipeline along the edge of the Panchayat road to draw water to his field. However, the adjacent landowner, the third respondent, viz., Subramanian, objected to the same. Consequently, despite the petitioner making preparations for laying the pipeline, including hiring a JCB and engaging workers, the work could not be carried out. It is

further stated that the petitioner was also threatened. Hence, he submitted a representation dated 20.03.2026 before the second respondent, who issued CSR No.69 of 2026.

The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the petitioner may be granted adequate police protection to complete the work, provided there are no contrary orders from the competent authorities. It was further submitted that the petitioner may approach the second respondent, inform the proposed date for laying the pipeline, and on such date, necessary police protection would be provided.

4. Recording the above submission, the Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly.
