2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner along with other accused cheated the defacto complainant to the tune of Rs.25,00,000/- assuring her of securing a medical seat for her son. Hence, the case.
3. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and she has been falsely implicated in this case. He also submitted that the petitioner is in no way connected with the alleged offence. It is the contention of the petitioner that the petitioner is a house wife and has no connection with the Danalakshmi Srinivasan Medical and Engineering college. It is her contention that the defacto complainant had private interactions with the petitioner which is now projected as though she had received money under the pretext of securing a medical seat. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any stringent condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prayed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondent police, submitted that the petitioner along with other accused cheated the defacto complainant to the tune of Rs.20,87,500/- assuring her of securing a medical seat for her son. He submits that the amount was transferred through bank as well as G-Pay transactions. However, after receiving the money, the petitioner, neither arranged for a seat, nor returned the money to the defacto 2/4
complainant. He also submits that one previous case of similar in nature is pending against the petitioner in Crime No.2 of 2025 on the file of DCB, Thanjavur. Hence, he strongly opposed for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. Heard both sides and perused the materials available on record.
6. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, nature of allegations, taking note of the submission made by the learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) and also considering the fact that one previous case of similar in nature is pending against the petitioner in Crime No.2 of 2025 on the file of DCB, Thanjavur, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
7. Accordingly, the Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed. 03.07.2025 nr To
