Respondents PRAYER: Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to promote the petitioner to the post of Depot Manager Grade - II by including his name in the approved panel for the year 2005 issued by the 2nd respondent in proceedings No.Aa.pa.pi.2/68490/2007 dated 16.11.2007 in accordance with his seniority with all monetary and other consequential service benefits and to pass orders.

The prayer sought for in the writ petition is to promote the petitioner in the post of Depot Manager Grade - II by including his name in the approved panel for the year 2005. Today, when the matter came up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that, the petitioner has passed away on 26.02.2018. It is submitted that on the death of the petitioner the writ petition has become infructuous. He has also made an endorsement to that effect in this writ petition.
