This original petition has been filed under Section 372 of the Indian Succession Act, 1925, and read with Order XXV, Rule 6 of the Original Side Rules, seeking Succession Certificate in respect of securities of Late Srinivasan Rangarajan, who died intestate on 30/06/2022 at Chennai leaving behind his wife and daughter to inherit his estate.
2. The share certificates, more fully mentioned in the schedule of the petition, are in the name of the deceased Srinivasan Rangarajan. To deal with the shares, including the right to transfer and negotiate, the petitioners, who are the wife and daughter of Srinivasan Rangarajan, have filed a petition for the grant of a Succession Certificate in favor of the first petitioner, the wife of the late Srinivasan Rangarajan, with the consent of the daughter, the second petitioner.

To substantiate the prayer, the death certificate of Srinivasan Rangarajan (Ex.P-1), the legal heir certificate (Ex.P-2), and the statement of equity shares held by Srinivasan Rangarajan (Ex.P-3) are marked through the proof affidavit of the first petitioner, Tmt. Vasanthi Rangarajan. No objections 2/5
were received in response to the paper publication (Ex.P-4) inviting objections from the public. The following five documents are marked as Ex.P-1 to Ex.P-5. Exhibits Documents Ex.P.1 Computer generated death certificate of Mr.Srinivasan Rangarajan. Ex.P.2 Computer generated legal heir ship certificate of Mr.Srinivasan Rangarajan.
Ex.P.3 Computer generated statement of equity shares held by Mr.S.Rangarajan.
Ex.P.4 Copy of the paper publication effected in one issue of Tamil Daily "Makkal Kural" dated 31.08.2024 Ex.P.5 Certificate under Section 65 B of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.

In view of the above-narrated evidence, it is proved that the schedule of the property, being the nature of the shares are in the name of late Srinivasa Rangarajan and the petitioners, being the Class-I heirs are entitled to inherit the same. In view of the consent affidavit by the 2nd petitioner, there is no impediment for grant of succession certificate in favour of the first petitioner, to collect the securities and to receive the interest, dividends and to negotiate or transfer the securities.
5. Accordingly, this Original Petition stands Allowed. The Succession Certificate is issued in favour of the 1st petitioner to enable him to 3/5
