O R D E R

(The case has been heard through video conference) The petitioner who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent Police for the offence punishable under Sections 147, 148, 387, 506(ii) of IPC read with Section 75(1)(c) of TN City Police Act in Crime .No.1586 of 2020, seeks anticipatory bail. 2.The case of the prosecution as per the defacto complainant Rajesh is that he is working as a cash collector in a private finance company. While so, on 19.06.2020 at 12 noon, the petitioner along with his associates attempted to snatch his bag which was containing the collection amount of Rs.40,000/- and when the defacto complainant raised alarm, the public attempted to apprehend the accused. At that time, they threatened the defacto complainant and others with dire consequences by brandishing knife and escaped from the scene of occurrence. 3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is an innocent and he has been falsely implicated in this case. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail.

4.The learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondent police would vehemently oppose stating that the petitioner along with others attempted to snatch cash of Rs.40,000/- from the defacto complainant by showing knife. He would further submit that the petitioner is also involved in another case of similar nature which has been registered in Crime No.1261 of 2020 wherein the petitioner along with other accused had robbed Rs.3,50,000/- from victim.

5. Taking into account the nature of offence and the fact that the petitioner is also involved in another case of similar nature, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition stands dismissed.
