This Petition has been filed under Section 372 of the Indian Succession Act seeking Succession Certificate with respect to the fixed deposit in post office account in Anna Nagar, Chennai, relating to the mother of the petitioners, Rani Menon, who died on 31.01.2015. The father of the petitioners V.K.T.Raman Menon, had attained civil death and in this regard, the petitioners placed reliance on a decree of the 18th Assistant Civil Court Judge, dated 30.07.2019 in O.S.No. 1866 of 2017.
2. Publication has been effected. Evidence was directed to be recorded. The second petitioner examined himself as PW-1. The document relating to the savings bank passbook was marked as Ex.P-1, the death certificate of the mother/ Rani Menon was marked as Ex.P-2. The decree in O.S.No. 1866 of 2017 dated 30.07.2019 passed by the XVIII Assistant City Civil Court, Chennai, was marked as Ex.P-3 and the legal heirship certificate of Rani Menon was marked as Ex.P-4.

3. It is also stated that the Succession Certificate may be granted in the names of the first, second and third petitioners.
4. Taking consideration the oral and documentary evidence produced and the fact that all necessary documents had been produced, this Petition stands allowed as prayed for and a direction for grant of Succession Certificate to the petitioners 1 to 3 with power to collect the debts and to receive the interest specified in the schedule is issued. The petitioners 1 to 3 are directed to render accounts once in a year.
