By consent, the Writ Petition is taken up and disposed of at the admission stage itself.

2. This Writ Petition has been filed to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 1st respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner, dated 05.06.2016, within a time frame.

3. The petitioner entered into service as Office Assistant in Examination Section, on a consolidated pay. Subsequently, his service was regularized. While so, on 04.03.2015, he was issued with a charge memo and he was placed under suspension from service. The grievance of the petitioner is that from the date of suspension onwards, he was not paid the subsistence allowance.

In this regard, the petitioner has made a representation to the respondents, on 05.06.2016. Since, the same was not considered so far, the petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition.

Mr.S.Kingston Jerold, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner would be satisfied, if his representation, dated 05.06.2016, seeking subsistence allowance during the period of suspension, is directed to be considered by the 1st respondent and appropriate orders are passed.

5. Mr.Suresh Kumar, the learned Standing Counsel, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents, has got no serious objection in directing the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner and to pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law.

6. Considering the above submissions, this Court, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, directs the 1st respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 05.06.2016, and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four weeks from the date of receiptof a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any opinion with regard to the merits of the claim made by the petitioner.
