Writ Petition filed under Section 226 of Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondent to pass appropriate orders within a fixed time frame on the application (Reg. No.403082 0606) dated 10.08.2020, in respect of grant of Electricity Service Connection under the "Poonthotta Service Scheme" to the petitioner's land in S.No.2/2, V. Marudhur and grant service connection within a limited time frame, in the light of petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2020.

O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for the issue of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the application submitted by the petitioner on 10.08.2020 and to grant electricity service connection to the petitioner with respect to the subject property.

2. Mr. Varunkumar, learned Standing Counsel appearing on behalf of the respondent submitted that the application submitted by the petitioner was cancelled by the respondent on the ground that the petitioner did not submit all the relevant documents. The learned counsel further submitted that the petitioner can make a fresh application along with all the relevant documents https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

and the same will be considered by the respondent to determine the claim made by the petitioner who is seeking for electricity service connection.

3.Taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to submit a fresh application to the respondent seeking for service connection along with all the relevant documents. The respondent, on receipt of the same, shall act upon the application strictly in accordance with the regulations and take a decision, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of the application from the petitioner. 4.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
