This petition has been filed to direct the respondent police to register the complaint dated 19.11.2014, in accordance with law.
2. Heard the party-in-person and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State.
3. In the complaint lodged by the petitioner, he has stated as follows:
"I purchased 2 Gold Chains from GRT Thanga Maligai & Sons show room on 17.09.2011 bearing the bill number 134265 they have charged the V.addn as 12% and 13.99%. Total wastage was 25.99% as they informed as Lost while it made. I purchased chain from GRT Thanga Maligai & Sons show room on 24.06.2011 bearing the bill number 69462 they have charged the wastage as 9%. On 24.4.2012 also purchased the 24KT gold coins from the same Jewellery bearing the bill https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
number 20370. The total cost of the coin is 6068.00 including the Wastage of 4%. Normally the coin will not get any sort of wastage. It was also available to purchase in all post offices without wastage.
4. The allegations are primarily unfair trade practice and it does not disclose the commission of a cognizable offence, warranting a direction from this Court to the police to register a case. Hence, this petition is dismissed.
