By consent of learned counsel on both sides, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

The present writ petition is filed praying for a writ of certiorarified mandamus to quash the impugned order dated 12.09.2024 and consequently direct the respondent to grant Grama Natham Patta for the plot measuring 3.50 cents (1370 sq.ft) in Old Grama Natham S.F.No.126/1, New Grama Natham S.F.No.291/3 situated at Pulipakkam Village, Chengalpattu Taluk and District.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the property in Old Grama Natham S.F.No.126/1, New Grama Natham S.F.No.291/3 situated at Pulipakkam Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Chengalpattu District measuring a total extent of 22.88 acres belonged to one Krishnan. It is submitted that Krishnan alienated 1370 sq.ft out of the total extent of 22.88 acres to one Padmanabhan vide Sale Deed dated 14.07.1980 and registered as Doc.No.1741/1980 in SRO, Chengalpattu.

It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the said Padmanabhan through his power agent alienated 1370 sq.ft to the petitioner vide Sale Deed dated 13.09.2008 and registered Doc.No.7904/2008 in Joint SubRegistrar No.II, Chengalpattu. It is further submitted that the petitioner is in 2/5

absolute possession and enjoyment of the subject property. 3.2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner submitted an application on 09.08.2024 requesting to grant Grama Natham Patta for the subject property. However, the respondent rejected the representation and initimated the same through SMS on 12.09.2024, without assigning any reason. Aggrieved by the same, the present writ petition has been filed before this Court.

4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent would submit that they would re-consider the petitioner's representation and pass orders afresh assigning reasons within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

In view thereof, the writ petition stands disposed of, with a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 09.08.2024 and pass appropriate order by assigning reasons, after affording the petitioner a reasonable opportunity of hearing within a period of 16 weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is made clear that this Court has not expressed any views with regard to the merits of the case and it is open to the concerned respondent to consider the matter on its own merits and in accordance with law. 3/5
