This habeas corpus petition has been filed by the petitioner/father to produce his daughter viz., Uma Nandhini, W/o.Senthilkumar, aged about 31 years, before this Court and set her at liberty forthwith. 2.

It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Uma Nandhini, aged about 31 years, went missing from 22.12.2021 and that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her, despite his complaint. 3.

On instructions, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Kangeyam Police Station Crime No.1336 of 2021 has been registered on 24.12.2021 for 'woman missing' and during the course of investigation, it came to light

that Nandhini has eloped with one Velmurugan. He would further submit that the wife of Velmurugan has also given a complaint, in connection with which, a petition equiry in C.S.R.No.205 of 2021 has been registered. Recording the same, this habeas corpus petition stands closed with a direction to the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kangeyam Sub-Division, Tiruppur District, to supervise the investigation in Kangeyam Police Station Crime No.1336 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when Uma Nandhini, aged about 31 years and Velmurugan are secured, they shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Kangeyam, Tiruppur District, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders with regard to custody in accordance with law. (S.V.N., J.) (A.D.J.C., J.) 05.07.2022 nsd
