Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, seeking for an issuance of writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.04.2025 to give promotion to the post of Driver in light of proposal sent by the 4th respondent in Na.Ka.No.193/2024/Aa dated 19.08.2024 and proposal sent by the 5th respondent in Na.Ka.No.313/2024/Aa dated 21.08.2024 with all consequential benefits and arrears.

ORDER
The writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.04.2025 to give promotion to the post of Driver in light of proposal sent by the fourth respondent in Na.Ka.No.193/2024/Aa dated 19.08.2024 and proposal sent by the fifth respondent in Na.Ka.No.313/2024/Aa dated 21.08.2024 with all consequential benefits and arrears.
The case of the petitioner is that he was appointed as a cook in the Government Tribal Boarding School, Chinnampathy, Coimbatore District
on 07.09.2000 through employment exchange under Rule 10(a)(1), and his services were regularized on 18.05.2002. He has served sincerely for over 24 years. The petitioner also holds a valid driving license and has temporarily served as a driver in various offices under the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department between 2017 and 2024, with experience certificates for each tenure. Despite being qualified and recommended for promotion to the post of driver, as per proposals dated 19.08.2024 and 21.08.2024, the promotion order has not been issued for over a year. Instead, he was recently transferred back as a cook to another school on 04.04.2025. Hence, the petitioner filed the present writ petition seeking promotion to the post of driver with all consequential benefits.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that though the petitioner was appointed as a driver, he is presently posted as a cook. He is eligible for promotion to the post of driver and possesses all the required qualification. It is further submitted that the petitioner has already submitted a representation to the respondent on 01.04.2025, which is yet to be considered by the respondents.
4. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 would submit that they will consider the petitioner's representation within a reasonable time.

In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the matter, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 08.04.2025, and pass orders on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order 6.
With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
