PRAYER : This Criminal Original Petition has been filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to fix a stipulated time period within which the trial in Spl.C.C.No.5/2019 may be completed pending on the file of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Vellore.

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to fix a stipulated time period within which the trial in Spl.C.C.No.5/2019 shall be completed pending on the file of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Vellore.

2. The petitioner herein was arrayed as accused No.3 in Crime No.12 of 2015 for the alleged offences under Sections 120(B), 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 of I.P.C and 13(2) read with 13(1) (c) (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act.

3. For the said offences charge sheet has been filed and the same has been taken on file in Spl.C.C.No.5 of 2019 and he seeks early disposal of the same.

4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that there are 34 witnesses and the matter is posted for trial on 12.07.2022. 2/4

Taking into consideration the nature of the charges and also the list of witnesses to be examined by the prosecution, this Court grants six months time for disposing Spl.C.C.No.5 of 2019. 6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition stands allowed to the limited extent indicated as above. 06.07.2022 nvi Internet : Yes To
