By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

The petitioner, while working as Grade I Police Constable, was declared as 'deserter' and was issued with a charge memo under Rule 3[b] of the Tamil Nadu Police Subordinate Services [Discipline and Appeal] Rules, vide charge memo dated 20.02.2011 and after enquiry, he was imposed with a punishment of removal from service vide order dated 19.08.2012. The petitioner filed a Memorial/Appeal Memorandum before the 1st respondent on 15.08.2015 and since no orders have been passed, the petitioner came forward by filing this writ petition. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

This Court considering the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the 1st respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner's Appeal Memorandum/ Memorial dated 15.08.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
