The petitioner's father died on 24.10.1988, while he was in service and he was survived by his wife, 3 daughters and a son. After the death of her father, the petitioner has made a representation seeking for compassionate appointment. Along with the representation, the petitioner has also enclosed no objection letters of the other legal heirs of her deceased father.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the respondents have not taken any action regarding her application for compassionate appointment. Hence, the present Writ Petition.
3. In view of the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition and taking into account the factum of non consideration of the petitioner's representation, which amounts to dereliction of duty on the part of the respondent, there shall be a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.11.2006 and pass orders in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The petitioner shall approach the 2nd respondent with a copy of this order along with her representation dated 25.11.2006.
4. With the above direction the Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, the connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
