JUDGMENT

(Judgment of the Court was delivered by K.K. SASIDHARAN, J.) The petitioner has filed the present writ petition for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus to direct the respondents to consider his representation dated 23.06.2018 on merits.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned counsel for the respondents.

3. The application submitted by the petitioner for compassionate appointment was rejected by the second respondent as time barred vide Official Memorandum in A.No.1022/2017 dated 06.12.2017. Thereafter, the petitioner filed an appeal before the first respondent on 23.06.2018. Though the appeal was characterised as a representation, the fact remains that it was an appeal filed against the order passed by the second respondent.

4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the first respondent, on instructions, submitted that the Registry has received the appeal on 25.06.2018.

5. We direct the first respondent to consider and dispose of the appeal, filed by the petitioner on

23.06.2018, challenging the order passed by the respondent on 06.12.2017, on merits and in accordance with law. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
