ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 & 2 to sanction the difference of arrears in the scale of pay from July 1999 to June 2003 along with interest within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

2. Today, when the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is no more and hence, liberty may be granted to his legal heirs to approach the respondent authorities with a fresh representation for appropriate relief, for which the learned counsel appearing for the respondents has no serious objection.

In view of the limited relief now sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner, which has not been seriously opposed on the side of the respondents, this writ petition stands disposed of, granting liberty to the legal heirs of the petitioner to submit a fresh representation seeking appropriate relief to the respondent authorities within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. On filing of such representation, the respondent authorities shall consider the same and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of six weeks thereafter. No costs.
