..Respondents Prayer:- Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the Second Respondent to consider the representation dated 06.02.2019 given by the Petitioner for grant of DBBL GUN license to the Petitioner as directed by the First Respondent. O R D E R

The Second Respondent has filed Status Report stating, inter alia, that the earlier application made by the Petitioner for grant of DBBL (Double Bore Breach Loading) Gun License was rejected by proceedings dated 22.10.2008 on the ground that as there was no threat to him or his family members, there was no necessity for him to possess such weapon. It is further contended that the Petitioner has made fresh representation dated 06.02.2019 to the Second Respondent, viz., the Additional District Judicial Magistrate cum District Revenue Officer, Villupuram, who is no more the authority to grant such license. It is informed that the District Collector is the Licensing https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

Authority as per notification in the Gazette of India Extraordinary, New Delhi dated 15.07.2016 of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, and that he is not a party to the Writ Petition.

Accordingly, Learned Counsel for the Petitioner seeks permission of this Court to withdraw the Writ Petition with liberty to make fresh application to the competent authority. He has also made an endorsement to that effect, which is recorded 3.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn granting such liberty. No costs.
