Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to absorb the petitioner into the respondent corporation service by considering the petitioner representation dated 05.10.2015 in the light of order dated 12.06.2000 made in Na.Ka.(A) No.3587/1999 passed by Inspector of Labour Thiruvannamalai.

By consent, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The petitioner was working as a contract labour in the services of then Tamil Nadu Electricity Board in the year 1993. He and others had approached Inspector of Labour under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status to Workmen) Act, 1981 vide order dated 12.6.2000. The said authority has directed the third respondent to confer them permanent status. Since orders have not been implemented, the petitioner has submitted a representation dated 05.10.2015 to the respondents praying for conferment of permanent status and since no orders have been passed, came forward to file this writ petition.

3. Heard the submissions of the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mrs.R.Varalakshmi, learned standing counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of respondents.

4. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the case, directs respondents 2 and 3 to consider and dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 05.10.2015 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.
