The petitioner, who apprehends arrest for the alleged offences punishable under Sections 8(c), 20(b)(ii)(c) of NDPS Act in Crime No.147 of 2023, on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution, as if he ran away on seeing the respondent police. He further submitted that the petitioner is ready to abide by any condition that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.

3. Learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent submitted that on 28.06.2024, the respondent police stopped an auto bearing No.28 CU 7472 and found two suspicious bags. When respondent police asked them to open the bags, the accused ran from the place of occurrence and approached towards a car bearing No.KL-58-AC-9686 and escaped in the car. Thereafter, the respondent police found 11 packets weighing T.V.THAMILSELVI,J.

4.Taking into consideration the facts of the case and the submissions made by the learned counsels, and also considering the huge quantity of contraband, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
