O R D E R
By the order dated 23.12.2013, after due enquiry, the patta granted in favour of the petitioner for Survey No.188/17 in Sevarapoondi Village, Polur Taluk, Tiruvannamalai District, was cancelled. Aggrieved over the same, the petitioner has filed an appeal before the first respondent on 24.01.2014. Now, the present writ petition has been filed alleging that despite the pendency of the appeal, an attempt has been made to assign the land to a third party.

Considering the above, without going into the merits of the case, the first respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the pending appeal of the petitioner dated 24.01.2014 within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, if the same is not already disposed of. The petitioner is also directed to submit a copy of the said representation along with this order within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. In the meanwhile, the status quo as on today regarding the assignment of land to the third parties shall be maintained, if not assigned already.
