ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by The Hon'ble Chief Justice) Heard Mr.A.Ramalingam, learned counsel for the petitioner; Mr.V.Jayaprakash Narayanan, learned Government Pleader (i/c) for respondent Nos.1 to 4 and Ms.P.T.Ramadevi, learned counsel for respondent No.5.
2. The case of the petitioner is that respondent No.5 has put up encroachment in the water course/CMP vaikkal in Survey No.49A/2B of Thirumakkottai Village, Mannargudi Taluk, Thiruvarur District. On account of the said encroachment, the petitioner has preferred a representation to the District Collector, Thiruvarur District dated 22.01.2019 with a copy marked to the Tahsildar, Mannargudi, i.e., respondent No.4 and other officials. The grievance of the petitioner is that his representation has not been considered.
3. The learned Government Pleader (i/c) states that respondent No.4, the Tahsildar, Mannargudi, is the appropriate authority to consider the representation of the petitioner. As stated earlier, copy of the representation dated 22.01.2019 has already been marked to respondent No.4.
4. In view of the limited prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, without going into the merits of matter, we direct respondent No.4 i.e., the Tahsildar, Mannargudi, Thiruvarur District to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 22.01.2019, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, after giving notice to respondent No.5.
5. The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
