This petition filed under Article 226 of The Constitution of India praying to issue a writ of mandamus directing the 4th respondent to give the particulars, details and reply to the 5th respondent as requested by the 5th respondent in requisition letter dated 10.2.2015 within a stipulated period of time. ORDER

Heard Mr.V.Muralidaran, the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.V.Subbiah, learned Special Government Pleader, who accepts notice for the respondents and with the consent of either side, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage.

2. The petitioner has filed this writ petition seeking for a direction to the fourth respondent, the Tahsildar, Katpadi Taluk, to furnish the requisite particulars as called for by the Inspector of Police, Land Grabbing Wing, office of the Superintendent of Police, Vellore.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that though the land grabbing cell has now been abolished, the matter is now being enquired into by the Crime Branch Police and the records and particulars sought for with regard to the complaint lodged by the petitioner have to be furnished since the enquiry into the complaint is yet to be completed.

4. In the light of the above, there will be a direction to the fourth respondent to verify from the fifth respondent as to whether the complaint given by the petitioner is still pending enquiry and if the same is still pending, then the fourth respondent shall furnish the information sought for by the Inspector of Police, Land Grabbing Wing, office of the Superintendent of Police, Vellore, if there are not other legal impediment, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. The writ petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
