Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents 1 to 3 herein to produce the body of the detenu K.Kavya D/o.Kumar, Hindu, aged about 24 years, residing at No.152, Pudu Colony, Kundrau Meettu Street, Akkarayapalayam, Vadakanandal post, Chinnasalem Taluk, Kallakurichi District, Ph: 9150479843, who has been illegally detained by respondents 4 to 10 and others, before this court and set her at liberty forthwith.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 herein to produce the detenu K.Kavya D/o.Kumar, aged about 24 years, who has been illegally detained by respondents 4 to 10 and others, before this court and set her at liberty forthwith.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that her daughter Kavya went missing from 08.07.2021 and thereafter, her whereabouts are not known. The petitioner's further grievance is that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her daughter.

3. Today, Mr.R.Srinivasan, Sub-Inspector of Police, G-3 Police Station, Kachirapalaiyam, is present.

4. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that, on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Kachirapalaiyam P.S.Crime No.515 of 2021 for "woman missing" was registered on 15.07.2021 and investigation is in progress.

5. In view of the above, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kallakurichi sub-division, to monitor the investigation in Kachirapalaiyam P.S.Crime No.515 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate I, Kallakurichi, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders.

With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
