ORDER

The order of this Court has been complied by the respondents although belatedly after this petition was filed and notice was ordered on the respondents.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the respondents are not providing EB Connection.

3. It is submitted that as per the provisions of the Street Vendors (Protection of Lively Hood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014, it is the responsibility of the respondents to provide for civic amenities. Specifically a reference was made to Section 16 & 17 of the said Act.

4. I am of the view that the electricity connection has to be obtained by the petitioner independently from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. It is therefore open for the petitioner to seek for other amenities from the concerned Statutory Authorities.

5. The scope of this Contempt Petition cannot be extended to give direction to other Statutory Authorities. Suffice to state that the petitioner was allotted a bunk shop as prayed for. The Contempt Petition therefore stands closed with the above observations.
