ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed challenging the impugned order passed by the second respondent dated 26.09.2020 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to call for fresh applications for the post of Office Assistants to the Panchayat Unions of Perambalur, Veppanthattai and Veppur in Perambalur District, by the competent authority of Appointment Committee of the respective Panchayat Union, strictly in accordance with law.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents on written instructions from the respondent Nos.7 to 9, viz., The Block Development Officers, Panchayat Unions of Perambalur & Vepppathattai and Veppur dated 09.12/2024, 12.12.2024 & on 16.12.2024 respectively, would submit that in view of the present writ petition , the filling up of the post of Office Assistant in the year 2020 in all the aforesaid Panchayat Unions have been stopped and subsequently in the year 2023 fresh applications were called for. As per the Approval Committee, fresh candidates were selected and they have been working as on date and all the vacancies were filled up.

3. In view of the written instructions from the Block Development Officers, nothing survives for further adjudication in this writ petition. Hence, this writ petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
