O R D E R

The instant writ petition has been filed with a prayer for issuing a Mandamus, to direct the respondent to pay the interest to the petitioner at the rate of 8% per annum for the belated payment of his Difference of Commutation amount within a time lime to be stipulated by this Court.

It is the contention of the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner had retired from the services of the respondent on 31.03.2017 as Special Grade Conductor, Gudiyatham, Vellore Region and made a representation dated 21.06.2024 requesting the respondent to pay the interest at the rate of 8% for the belated payment of the difference of commutation, there was no response for the same.

3. Heard the learned counsel for both sides and perused the materials available on record.

4. Though there is disputed facts between the parties, taking into consideration of the fact that the representation made by the petitioner is yet to be considered, this Court without going into merits of the matter, deems it 2/4

appropriate to direct the respondent to pay the eligible and admissible amount with interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated payment of difference of commutation to the petitioner within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. In the result, this Writ Petition is disposed of with the above observations. No costs.
