..Respondent(s) Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representations dated 02.06.2025, 11.06.2025, 26.06.2025 and 27.11.2025 and consequently restrain the authorities from granting any FL-2/FL-3 liquor license or permit room license to Bungalow 8 Hotel situated at AR Garden Road, Thirumal Nagar, Korattur, Chennai in the residential locality of Tirumal Nagar and thus render justice.

Mr.M.Sivavarthanan for R1 to R5 Order This Writ petition has been filed directing the respondents to consider the petitioners representations dated 02.06.2025, 11.06.2025, 26.06.2025 and 27.11.2025 and consequently restrain the authorities from granting any FL-2/FL-3 liquor license to Bungalow 8 Hotel situated at residential locality of Tirumal Nagar.

Case of the petitioner is that the petitioner is having residential property in the name of ''Chitra Nilayam'' consists of five independent families situated at Plot No.1, A.R.Garden Road, Thirumal Nagar, Korattur, Chennai, adjacent to Bangalow 8 Hotel. The petitioner came to know that steps are being taken to grant liquor license to the said Hotel. It is alleged by the petitioner that

the said Hotel is located in the midst of a residential neighbourhood with narrow streets, where several families, elders, women and children were residing. Hence, the petitioner immediately wrote objections to the official respondents and further, the petitioner along with other residents also sent series of representations dated 02.06.2025, 11.06.2025, 26.06.2025 and 27.11.2025 to the respondents. Since the said representations have not reached its finality, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would suffice, if the second respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 27.11.2025 on merits and in accordance with law, within a specified period.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 5 has no objection for such an order being passed by this Court.

5. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned counsel appearing for the respondents 1 to 5. Since no adverse order is passed against the 6th respondent, notice to them is not necessary. Therefore, notice to the 6th respondent is dispensed with.

6. In view of the limited request made by the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 27.11.2026 and pass appropriate final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after providing an opportunity of personal hearing to all the parties concerned, including the 6th respondent, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
