The petitioner herein seeks a direction to 2nd respondent to consider his representation dated 27.12.2021 seeking free electricity service connection to the petitioner's motor pump set fixed in Survey No.118/5 situated at Kazhikujlam Village, Keelpennathur Taluk, Thiruvannamalai District.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that he filed an application seeking free electricity service connection in the above mentioned survey number. He received a communication on 14.07.2020 sanctioning the service connection. Later, the petitioner was orally informed as if his application was rejected on the ground that there exist another service connection in the very same survey number. Therefore, the petitioner submitted a representation before the 2nd respondent stating that petitioner is not having any other service connection in Survey No.15/7B and therefore, his application for free electricity service connection in the above mentioned survey number may be considered. The said representation has not been considered till date. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Mr.Swami Subramanian, learned Standing Counsel (TNEB) takes notice for the respondents, submits that the competent authority for considering the representation of the petitioner is the 1st respondent. However, the representation had been submitted before the 2nd respondent.

In view of the same, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the 2nd respondent is directed to forward the representation of the petitioner dated 27.12.2021 to the 1st respondent within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. The 1st respondent shall consider the same and pass final orders on its' own merits within a further period of six weeks from the date of receipt representation.
5. With the above directions, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
