ORDER

Seeking a direction to the respondents to grant minimum pension to the petitioner as done in respect of 199 Village Administrative Officers vide G.O.Ms.No.148, Revenue [Per-8(2)] Department dated 20.04.2011 with effect from 01.07.2012 and grant him all consequential benefits, the present writ petition came to be filed by the petitioner.

2.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner worked as Village Munsif from 01.07.1978 to 07.10.1979. Thereafter, he was appointed as Village Administrative Officer on 26.10.2005 and worked as such, till his retirement i.e., on 30.06.2012. While so, based on G.O.Ms.No.756, Revenue Department, dated 17.08.1993, the Government passed G.O.Ms.No.148, Revenue, (Per-8(2) Department https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

dated 20.04.2011, granting minimum pension for 199 Village Administrative Officers. Pursuant to the same, one C.Ramanujam, who was appointed as Village Administrative Officer on 26.10.2005 and retired from service on 31.03.2008, was granted minimum pension. However, the name of the petitioner was not considered for the same. Hence, he gave a representation seeking minimum pension and the same is pending without any progress, which compelled him to file this writ petition for the aforesaid relief.

3.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents fairly submitted that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner, if not already considered and pass appropriate orders, on merits, within a time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

4.Considering the facts and circumstances of the case and having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents, to consider the petitioner's representation dated 28.04.2013 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight (8) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 5.This Writ Petition is disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
