Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner in their office under compassionate ground on the basis on his representation dated 3.12.2002.

By consent, the writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2. The case of the petitioner is that his father was an employee under the 2nd respondent and his GPF Number is 54837. He died on 02.09.2002 during his employment, leaving behind his wife, four daughters and two sons as his legal heirs.

3. It is the claim of the petitioner that within three months after the death of his father, the petitioner made a representation to the 2nd respondent seeking appointment on compassionate ground. The Tahsildar has also issued legal heirs certificate. The petitioner obtained no objection from the https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

other legal heirs for appointing him on compassionate ground in the 2nd respondent Corporation. It was also informed to the respondent that the petitioner's brother was missing since 2008 for which case is registered in Cr.No.942 of 2008. Since no orders have been passed, the petitioner is before this court by filing this writ petition.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.G.Anantharangan, the learned counsel, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

4. Though the petitioner prayed for a larger relief, this court, in the light of the facts and circumstances and without going into the merits of the case, directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 03.12.2012 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken, to the petitioner.

5. This Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
