Respondents Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for the issuance of a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records relating to the impugned order passed by the first respondent herein in so far as the petitioner is concerned in G.O.Ms.No.352, Home (Police-XVII) Department, dated 14.05.2012 and quash the same and consequently direct the respondents herein to promote the petitioner as Station Officer (Transport) from the date of promotion of his immediate juniors with all consequential service and monetary benefits.

O R D E R

The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner made a submission that though the petitioner was denied time bound promotion, during the relevant point of time, he had reached the age of superannuation and now receiving pension. In view of the fact that no useful purpose would be served in pursuing the matter, the adjudication became unnecessary.
