O R D E R

The petitioner has filed this petition for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, to direct the second respondent to register the sale deed presented by her pertaining to the lands owned by her, comprised in Survey Number 81/2 admeasuring 2.86 acres in Panayur village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpet District.

2. Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Special Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents. In view of the limited relief sought for in this petition, on the consent expressed by the Learned counsel appearing for either side, this petition is taken up for final disposal.

The case of the Petitioner is that the petitioner had purchased the agricultural lands comprised in Survey No.81/2 admeasuring 2.86 acres in Panayur Village, Cheyyur Taluk, Chengalpet District vide sale deed dated 27.01.1994 registered as Doc.Nos.129/1994 and 130/1994 on the file of the Sub Registrar, Cheyyur. In the year 2013, Ultra Mega Power Project 2/6

(UMPP) for the proposed Coal Conveyor Corridor Project at Panayur Village was announced and a ban was implemented on registration of lands comprised in various survey numbers in Panayur village including the petitioner's land, earmarked for acquisition for the above said project. However, thereafter, the project was discontinued. After discontinuation, the petitioner intended to alienate the property in favour of M/s.Marina Holdings and the said document was presented before the second respondent for registration. However, the second respondent, refused to entertain the document and to register the same citing the ban on registration of lands earmarked for acquisition for the Ultra Mega Power Project in Panayur Village. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if this Court issues direction to the second respondents to entertain the document presented by the petitioner, if otherwise in order, and to pass orders on the same within a particular time frame fixed by this Court. 5.The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's document will be entertained, if 3/6

otherwise in order and appropriate orders will be passed within a stipulated time frame

In view of the aforesaid submissions, this Court without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to entertain the documents submitted by the petitioner, if otherwise in order, and pass appropriate orders after the receipt of necessary stamp duty and registration charges, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
