ORDER

(1) Mr.Yogesh Kannadasan, learned Government Advocate accepts notice on behalf of the respondents.

(2) The writ petitioner seeks patta for the land which she had purchased by way of a Sale Deed on 21.02.1997 registered as Doc.No.162/1997. The said lands are situated in S.No.32/1 and measures about 609 sq.ft., in North Street, Rettakurichi Village, Veppur Taluk in Cuddalore District. (3) The petitioner claims that even though she had purchased the said property about 23 years back, patta still stands https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

in the name of the vendor and there was no occasion for her to seek a change in the patta in her name. However, she had given a representation on 07.07.2021 seeking patta in her name.

This is now pending before the 1st respondent/Tahsildar, Veppur Taluk.

(4) Even though the petitioner had approached this Court within a period of just four weeks, a mandamus is issued to the 1st respondent/Tahsildar, to issue notice to the petitioner herein and thereafter, take a considered decision, whether to grant patta in her name or not. Let the Tahsildar takes such a decision within a period of twenty weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

(5) The writ petition stands disposed of accordingly. No costs.
