ORDER
The petitioner apprehend arrest for the alleged offence under Sections 420 of IPC, 1860 in Crime No.471 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police seeks anticipatory bail.
2. The case of the prosecution is that, the petitioner induced the defacto complainant and received a sum of Rs.13,54,000/- for the purchase of an Innova car. The petitioner neither purchased the car nor refunded the amount and thereby cheated the defacto complainant. Hence, the case.
3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in this case. He further submitted that the petitioner has repaid a sum of Rs.5,50,000/- and the remaining amount is yet to be paid. The petitioner is ready and willing to abide by any conditions that may be imposed by this Court. Hence, he prays for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
4. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police reiterated the prosecution case and opposed the grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
5. I have given anxious consideration to the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and also perused the records available. 6.Considering the nature of the allegations against the petitioner and the magnitude of the amount involved in this case, this Court is of the firm view
that the petitioner does not deserve the grant of anticipatory bail. Accordingly, this Criminal Original Petition is dismissed. 06-05-2026 MPA To 1.The Inspector of Police, J-1 Saidapet Police Station, Chennai.
