Habeas Corpus Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus directing the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the body of petitioner's husband Mahendran S/o.Selvaraj, aged 30 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's husband

Mahendran, aged 30 years, before this court and set him at liberty.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that her husband Mahendran went missing from 22.07.2021 and thereafter, his whereabouts are not known. The petitioner's further grievance is that the police are not taking effective steps to secure her husband.

3. Today, Mr.M.Sivakumar, Grade-I Police, Tiruppur City North Range, is present.

4. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that, on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Tiruppur North P.S.Crime No.1593 of 2021 for "man missing" was registered and investigation is in progress.

5. In view of the above, we direct the Assistant Commissioner of Police (North), Tiruppur, to monitor the investigation in Tiruppur North P.S.Crime No. 1593 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenu is secured, he shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate I, Tiruppur, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders.

With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
