.. Respondent Prayer : Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for the issuance of Writ of mandamus to direct the respondent to consider and pass orders in the petitioner's representation dated 20.01.2014 within a stipulated time.

By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal.

2.The petitioner states that he was recruited as Typist in the year 1983 and promoted as Assistant during 1990 and then promoted as Deputy Tahsildar during 2000 and thereafter promoted as Tahsildar during 2008 and retired from service on 31.08.2012 as Tahsildar on attaining the age of superannuation. 3.The grievance of the petitioner is that the respondent/District Revenue officer by order dated 09.03.2000 by following 4:1 ratio revised the panel of Assistant list for 1990 and included the petitioner in Sl.No.16 instead of Sl.No.15 in the post of Typist. To rectify the said mistake, the petitioner has given representation dated 20.01.2014. The same is not disposed of and the petitioner has not yet received any fair reply. 4.The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that each and every stage, the petitioner was promoted as per the orders of the Court and the learned counsel further submitted that writ appeal in WA.No.1145 of 2006 filed by the Government was dismissed on 13.01.2014 and on the basis of the said order, the petitioner is entitled for refixation of his seniority. 5.The learned Government Advocate would submit that even if the respondent refixes the seniority as per the representation of the petitioner, it is to be considered by the Secretary to the Government and the respondent herein can only forward his report to the Government for further action.

6. Heard the submissions of Mr.R.Krishnan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Gunasekaran, Government Advocate who accepts notice on behalf of the respondent.

7. This Court, taking into consideration the limited scope of prayer sought for by the petitioner and without going into the merits of the same, directs the respondent to consider and dispose of the petitioner representation dated 20.01.2014 on pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order and communicate the decision taken to the petitioner.

8. The Writ Petition is disposed of accordingly. No costs.
