Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd and 3rd respondents to publish the result of the interview dated 27.10.2020 of the petitioner in the post of Assistant (Junior Assistant) in Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board and consequently appoint the petitioner in the post of Assistant (Junior Assistant) in Tamilnadu Pollution Control Board under the preferential quota namely Inter Caste Marriage (ICM) based on the petitioner representation dated 16.07.2021. ORDER
It is the case of the petitioner that the petitioner had participated in the competitive exams conducted by the respondents pursuant to a notification dated 06.03.2019 and exam on 10.10.2020.
2.The case of the petitioner is that, she had also participated in the exam and was called for a interview by a letter dated 27.10.2020 and attended interview on 24.11.2020. However, after the interview was conducted she has not been informed as to whether she has been selected or rejected. 3.It is the further case of the petitioner, that the petitioner had also sent a representation to the 2nd respondent on 16.07.2021 and also sent the another representation of RTI to the Public Information Officer of the respondent who has merely informed to the disclosure of information would cause unwarranted invasion of the privacy of the individual unless the Central Public Information Officer or the State Public Information Officer or the State Public Information Officer of the Appellate Authority, as the case may be, is satisfied that the larger public interest justifies the disclosure of such information.
4.However, the petitioner has not asked the respondents to disclose private information of individuals. The petitioner is entitled to know the persons who were selected and why she was not selected.
5.Under these circumstances, this Court is inclined to partly allow this writ petition by directing the 3rd respondent to give a proper reply to the petitioner's representation dated 16.07.2021 within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.This writ petition stands disposed of with the above observations. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
