O R D E R

The prayer in the present petition is direct the respondents to remove the petitioner's name from the pokkiri list (HS No.248 of 2008) being maintained on the file of the 3rd respondent, by considering his representation dated 01.06.2016.

2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) on instructions submitted that there are only two cases in Crime Nos. 1029 of 2004 and 940 of 2007 are pending as against the petitioner herein on the file of Pallipalayam Police Station and both the cases have ended in acquittal. It is further submitted that there are no other cases pending as against him.

3. In view of the same, continuance of the petitioner's name in the rowdy list in HS No. 248 of 2008 may not be proper. With this observation, the criminal original petition is allowed. The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the first respondent, seeking for removal of his name from the rowdy list in H.S. No.248 of 2008. On receipt of the said representation, the first respondent shall take necessary steps to have the petitioner's name removed, in the light of the above observation.
