O R D E R
[Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J] This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to produce the petitioner's wife Ramya, aged
25 years, from the illegal custody of respondents 3 and 4 before this court and set her at liberty.
2. It is the case of the petitioner that his wife Ramya went missing from 22.07.2021 and thereafter, her whereabouts are not known. The petitioner's further grievance is that the police are not taking effective steps to secure his wife. 3.Today, Mr.D.Velayutham, Sub-Inspector of Police, Baluchettychathiram Police Station, is present.
4. On instructions, learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that, on a complaint given by the petitioner, a case in Baluchettychathiram P.S.Crime No.863 of 2021 for "woman missing" was registered and investigation is in progress.
5. In view of the above, we direct the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kanchipuram sub-division, to monitor the investigation in Baluchettychathiram P.S.Crime No.863 of 2021 and keep the petitioner informed of the developments, if any. As and when the detenue is secured, she shall be produced before the Judicial Magistrate I, Kanchipuram, under intimation to the petitioner. On such production, the learned Magistrate shall pass appropriate orders.
With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is disposed of.
