PRAYER : Writ Petition filed Under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to provide a new service connection to the petitioner for his premises in view of the representation by way of appropriate format of the application along with covering letter dated 20.2.2014 to the premises No. 37/14 , Kathbada 3rd Cross Lane, Old Washermenpet, Chennai-600 021 by obtaining indemnity bond and the necessary charges from the petitioner within period fixed by this Hon'ble Court.

O R D E R

The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to provide an new service connection to the petitioner for his premises in view of the representation by way of appropriate format of the application along with petitioner covering letter dated 20.2.2014 to the premises No. 37/14, Kathbada 3rd Cross Lane, Old Washermenpet, Chennai-600 021 by obtaining indemnity bond and the necessary charges from the petitioner.

2. The grievances of the writ petitioner is that he is in possession of the subject property and yet to be provided with the Electricity service connection.

3. The learned counsel for the petitioner states that in respect of civil dispute, a Suit was instituted and it was decreed in favour of the petitioner. This being the factum, it is for the petitioner to furnish all those relevant documents along with application before the competent authorities of the Electricity Board and in the event of filing an application, the same is to be considered on merits and in accordance with law as expeditiously as possible and based on the Regulations.

4. With these observations, the writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
