Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents 2 to 5 herein to promote the petitioner to the post of Sub Inspector on the date on which his juniors were promoted to the post of Sub Inspector and consequently promote the petitioner to the post of Inspector of Police on the date of his juniors were promoted as Inspector of Police with all attendant and consequential monetary benefits.

ORDER

The prayer made in this writ petition is to direct the respondents 2 to 5 herein to promote the petitioner to the post of Sub Inspector on the date on which his juniors were promoted and consequently promote the petitioner to the post of Inspector of Police with all attendant and consequential monetary benefits.

2.When the matter was taken up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is no more and hence, the writ petition may be closed, with liberty to the legal heirs of the petitioner to approach the authority concerned for notional benefits. 3.Granting such liberty, this writ petition stands closed. No costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is also closed.
