O R D E R

The prayer sought for in this writ petition is to direct the respondent for providing police protection on any particular day for putting up a small hut in the vacant land of the petitioner at plots No.6 & F in Survey No.4/1A of No.10, Puttur Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondent.

3. The petitioner apprehends that when he put up a construction in the property at Plot No.6&F in Survey No.4/1A of No.10, Puttur Village, Chengalpattu Taluk, Kancheepuram District, he may be disturbed by third party and hence he gave a representation dated 22.11.2017 to the respondent police seeking for protection for the purpose of putting up a hut. Since the representation was not considered by the respondent police, the present petition has been filed.

4. It is needless to point out that whenever a representation was made for seeking protection, the respondent police shall dispose of the same expeditiously in one way or other to keep the same pending. Hence, there shall be a direction to the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 22.11.2017 and pass appropriate order on its own merits, within a period of two weeks from the date of the receipt of a copy of this Order. While considering the petitioner's representation, the respondent shall also give an opportunity to all such persons who may be interested in the subject property.

5. With the above observations, the Criminal Original Petition stands disposed of.
